The Perfect French Press
While in college, I was gifted my first ever french press! I absolutely LOVED making coffee with it! I never measured; I never waiting till the water was at the perfect temp. I eye-balled everything and it tasted amazing! (or so I thought-my coffee palette is not well trained)
Fast forward to now: I took my french press out the other day because we had gotten some whole beans from sidecar doughnuts while we were in CA. I wanted to treat my new beans right and not just grind them into powder and make a HUGE pot of drip coffee with them.
So I decided to breakout our french press. It was then that I realized I had no clue what I was doing. BUT I was in luck: McKenna from The York Pack had literally JUST posted a how-to make the perfect french press!
I don't have the proper grinder, but I had everything else I need to make the perfect batch of coffee for Michael and I.
McKenna's post was very informative! I never knew how mathematical the perfect cup of coffee was!
I'm 90% sure I did everything correctly- my brew was super light though and I'm not 100% sure why that is--maybe a lighter roast of beans?
The one thing I would change: my grinder. I now know how important this step is in the various methods of coffee brewing!
